Bing It On Challenge for a free $25 Gift Card
The “Bing It On Challenge” is a massive research study to open the eyes of consumers on their options when searching online. How does it work? The search engine survey puts BING against GOOGLE. You pick 5 search topics and they created a website that does side by side comparisons of the results. You need to pick your favorite result page for each search engine word or phrase being searched. At the end, they reveal which search engine won the challenge. You can take the survey online BUT for taking the survey at your local Microsoft Store you’ll get a $25 gift card you can use on anything you want. The $25 in-store compensation ends October 25th, the day before Microsoft 8 comes out! You can still check out the challenge online for the ‘Bing it On challenge’ here.

Upon inspection of the key terms I listed during my challenge (Chicago trade show models, San Francisco trade show models, Las Vegas trade show models, CES trade show models to name a few carefully selected and industry specific terms) the results Bing listed were off-topic. The information presented in the top positions during the BING search result page had little to do with what I was searching for. I chose Google 100% of the time.
Furthermore, as a tech savvy individual with search engine optimization knowledge I have my own two cents on the competitors Google and Bing. Google puts a lot of time in creating and revamping the algorithm that ranks pages. Furthermore, location and social circles are not taken into account when searching. These are two of Google’s strong suites and some of the reasons why Google search engine users have such great experiences. Finally, Bing places a lot of emphasis on website age and google does not. Many fresh, new, pertinent companies will have to try long and hard to rank well with BING and that is one of the reasons for the unfavorable results I found.
Regardless, go in and get your $25 gift card (Before October 26, 2012) for taking part in the world’s largest research study, the Bing It On Challenge. Maybe Bing is right for you!
